An outdoor adventure showcase in the heart of downtown Reno at the Truckee River Whitewater Park at Wingfield. It attracts top athletes from the pro kayaking tour and features two days of wet and wild fun, on both land and water. The event also has free live music, food vendors, yoga in the park, kids play area, and fly fishing clinic.


The festival offers over 500 events ranging from live music, dance, theater and performances to visual arts, workshops, multicultural events, fashion shows, and tours. Artists from around the world come together for the sake of cultural diversity and artistic innovation. Over 60% of the events are free including the popular Opening Night and Closing Night concerts.

Events take place in various locations throughout Reno and Sparks, but the festival’s main location is Wingfield Park, located along the Truckee River in downtown Reno and Bartley Ranch Amphitheater in South Reno.

Barracuda Championship

The 18th annual Barracuda Championship, an official PGA TOUR event, takes place June 27-July 3, 2016 at Montrêux Golf & Country Club in Reno, Nev. The tournament is one of just 46 full-field stops during the PGA TOUR Season and is part of the FedEx Cup series, a points competition for PGA TOUR professionals. The internationally televised event brings in millions of dollars in coverage for the Reno-Tahoe region through its affiliation with Golf Channel as it follows 132 PGA TOUR professionals competing for a share of the tournament’s $3.2 million purse. Montrêux Golf & Country Club has been the host site since the tournament’s inception in 1999. The Barracuda Championship is managed and operated by the Reno-Tahoe Open Foundation, a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, comprised of key sponsors including title sponsor Barracuda Networks, Eldorado Hotel Reno, AT&T and NV Energy.

Reno Rodeo

With 10 exciting nights of rodeo competition, the annual Reno Rodeo is one of the premier stops on the Pro Rodeo Tour.  More than 700 contestants compete and over $2.5 million in prize money is paid out! There is also a full carnival, food court and over 150 shops and vendors.

Lake Tahoe Shakespeare Festival

Hot August Nights

It’s the largest classic car event in the country. Restored hot rods and muscle cars give people a first-hand experience of popular cars from past decades. The festival is packed with more than 5,000 classic vehicles to admire!   Show-n-Shines, drag races, controlled cruises, concerts, a swap meet, sock hop and a classic car auction are just a few of the activities.

Rib Cook-Off

If you love ribs and BBQ, then be sure to attend America’s BEST rib competition. Enjoy ribs from up to 24 of the best cookers from across the world! The annual Best in the West Nugget Rib Cook-Off, hosted by the Nugget Casino Resort, turns the Labor Day holiday into a must-attend culinary, music, craft, and family event.

Hot Air Balloon Races

The annual Great Reno Balloon Race attracts nearly 100 balloons in all shapes and sizes. Activities include a glow show and dawn patrol which are an amazing pre-dawn display as balloons twinkle against the dark sky. During the mass ascension, the skies fill with colorful balloons. The super glow show features glowing balloons choreographed to music. Balloon Boulevard features a variety of food, crafts, art and souvenirs.

Reno Air Races

The annual event is the only closed course pylon racing event in the world, and is the world’s longest running air race. Spectators have up close access to racing aircrafts, pilots and crews in the pits. Along with the races, there’s an air show, military display and demonstrations, aircraft display and great concessions and vendors.
